Specialty 3D Printing Materials

by Shafiq Ali, Meka Studios LLP (Mēkā)
Desktop 3D printing is far more than just producing solid objects out of coloured plastic. Today, materials exist which allow you to create parts with various textures and properties – be it a functional and flexible phone casing, an ornamental piece that has the feel and look of wood / brick, or even replacement automobile and machine parts that need to withstand a certain degree of mechanical stress.

Come understand the different types of materials that you can use, to give your 3D printed part a unique form and feel. Get to know the tips and tricks of printing with specialty filament, and take a look up-close – at objects printed using NinjaFlex, Laywood, Laybrick, Carbon Fibre PLA and PET+.

There will also be an introduction to new materials that are currently in the pipeline.

Meka Studios LLP (Mēkā) is a local stockist of 3D printing materials, and also the Flashforge Creator series of 3D printers.
